Daniel Beaudoin, Manager of Operations, Energy & Utilities at Harvard's School of Public Health, will present case studies on energy saving projects that they have implemented at HSPH.  Some of the projects include: cost-effective savings from IBM low-wattage network PCs for a new and existing PC-micro-labs; environmental/energy impact study for 24/7 laboratory facilities; SPH2 supply air handler redesign/replacement project; and Landmark Center - USGBC LEEDS-CI Green build-out. 

A high performance building in one that is designed, constructed and used such that it is efficient, environmentally responsible, and productive.   Jack McCarthy, President of Environmental Health and Engineering, will illustrate, through case studies, how the concepts of integrated design and building commissioning can be applied in a collaborative process to ensure that the goals articulated in the design intent are maintained through development and ultimately realized in the functional performance of the building.
