Steps to Certification

There are four successive stages of green office certification: Leaf One, Leaf Two, Leaf Three, and Leaf Four. To receive certification, please submit the final page of a level’s checklist (downloadable from the web page for each Leaf), containing the signatures of at least 75 percent of office members*, including the office head or program director. Members sign to affirm that they reduced office resource use by taking the steps required by that level of certification. Green Office Certification does not require a formal audit by the Office for Sustainability, although certification status is subject to periodic review.
Send your completed checklist and form to the Office for Sustainability:
| sustainability@harvard.edu | |
| Harvard Office for Sustainability Green Office Program 46 Blackstone Street, 4th Floor South Cambridge, MA 02139 |
Offices must complete every action on the checklist, unless it is not applicable to their operations. In this case, simply note this on the submitted form.
When new employees join a Green Office, they should be oriented to expectations for office resource use.
*Members of an office are considered to include both full- and part-time staff and faculty, as well as student workers.
