Sustainability at Harvard

Green Office: Participation

Participation

Leaf One

Leaf One

  • If a green team exists in our School/unit, someone from our department is an active member. Members of our office know they may contact this person with ideas, questions, and comments regarding Harvard sustainability initiatives. If not, we’ve considered starting one. [Green Team Startup Guide]
  • Our office participated in (or will participate in) the Harvard Sustainability Pledge.
  • Our group or office receives a monthly Green Tip e-mail from the Office for Sustainability and displays the Green Tip poster on an office bulletin board. [Email Sign Up / Poster]

  • We have solicited feedback from office members about green building features we have or could have in our office, such as lighting retrofits, occupancy sensors, dual-flush toilet retrofits, aerators on sinks, green cleaning contracts, etc. A member of our office has shared this feedback with someone in Facilities/Operations.
  • We have a designated section of an office bulletin board, or have a separate board for posting tips and information about green practices, events, and groups.

  • We include information about our office/departmental environmental policies and goals in hire packets for all new staff. We also include Harvard's commitment to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions in our hiring information.
  • Someone in our office is a part of a departmental or School-wide Green Team.

  • We inspired another group, _________________________, to pursue Harvard Green Office Certification.
  • We have successfully implemented at least three additional Green Projects for our office. [Project Ideas]
