  • These reduce solvents for clean up and have a low VOC content

  • If a varnish or coating is required request an aqueous based option. Aqueous based options have lower VOCs and need no solvents for cleanup

5. Design a series or multiple print projects to fit on a single sheet

  • This will save paper, energy and money

Adobe6. Use PDF proofs

  • This minimizes proofing materials and vehicle trips transporting proofs

 

7. Use a self mailer design for those materials you'll be sending out

  • This way the material itself is the envelope, saving paper, stuffing time and money

8. Reduce quantities when appropriate by offering an On Demand digital print option.

  • On demand reduces price and reduces obsolete inventories of printed material

9. Offer an electronic version or pdf option for newsletters and other similarly printed products

10. Ask if the printer is FSC, SFI or Green-e certified
