Checklists

At the Harvard Green Campus Initiative (HGCI), creating checklists is a joint effort between the GLP captains and coordinator. At each of the biweekly meetings, the reps receive a checklist, which outlines the tasks for them to do during the coming two weeks. Checklists are based on the GLP calendar for the year and focus on one or two main themes, such as recycling in September or heating in October.

Checklists are designed to be easy-to-read and easy-to-complete, giving the reps an easy way to update the captains and coordinator at the end of the two-week period. "Feedback Questions" are included to prompt reps to explain how they went about the tasks, how they felt the activities went, and how they would have improved on the tasks if they had the chance to do it again. Reps return their checklists by email before the next biweekly meeting.  At the HGCI, the checklists are due the night before the next biweekly meeting, giving the captains and coordinator enough time to read through the reps' feedback.

Sample Checklists

Below are sample checklists from our most recent year, organized chronologically. They show the tasks for the reps in Harvard's "houses," or upper class dormitories. The checklists for the reps in the overflow and first-year dormitories are customized, when necessary.
