Budget Development

Questions to consider when developing your green living program (GLP) budget include the following:

  • How many dorms will you target?
  • How many reps do you want working in each dorm?
  • For how many hours will each rep work each week?
  • How many captains will you need? How many hours per week will they be working?
  • Is there an area on campus that will require more attention or need a special type of position in your GLP?
  • Will your coordinator position be part- or full-time?

The amount of funding you are able to secure will affect your answers to these questions. Create an ideal program structure and associated budget to show funders. Even if you are unable to secure your ideal amount, you will at least have a target for the future.
