  1. FAS - Green Labs

    What is the FAS Green Labs Program?

    The FAS Green Labs Program works with researchers, staff, faculty, and building managers to implement sustainable practices and technologies in the FAS lab buildings. Because of the resource intensity of lab science and the unique conditions and requirements in each individual lab, we approach lab sustainability both from a building-wide perspective, as well as a granular perspective aimed at identifying local opportunities at the lab level.

  3. FAS Green Program

    FAS Green Program

    The Faculty of Arts and Sciences' (FAS) Green Program acts as an umbrella for a wide range of environmental efforts, with the goal of reducing the school’s impacts and of integrating resource consciousness into the fabric of FAS institutional, operational and individual practices.

  4. Green Building Services

    The Office for Sustainability (OFS) Green Building Services support Harvard schools and units in efforts to design, build, and operate their buildings more sustainably. The team helps identify opportunities for improving building performance and shares best practices across the University.

  5. Green Campus Loan Fund

    Overview

    The Green Campus Loan Fund (GCLF) is a $12 million revolving loan fund that provides up-front capital for projects that reduce Harvard’s environmental impact. Projects pay back the loan from their savings within five years.

  6. Green Office Resource

    The Green Office Program helps offices at Harvard to become more sustainable. It provides information, outreach materials, and fact sheets to help offices use less resources, purchase green products, and lessen their carbon footprint. The Green Office team can also do workshops with offices to educate the staff on best practices. The Green Office Checklist and Rating System help offices to benchmark their actions and serves as a guide to making changes.

  7. Green Skillet

    What is the Green Skillet Competition?

    Undergraduate students aren’t the only ones taking action to reduce their House’s environmental impact—the wonderful kitchen and dining hall staff are doing their part too! The Green Skillet is an academic year-long sustainability competition between the kitchens of the nine houses. Now in its fourth year, the competition pits kitchens against each other in four categories: electricity conservation, natural gas conservation, participation in the Sustainability Pledge, and special projects.   8. Green Teams at Harvard

    Green Teams

    Joining or starting a green team is a great way to get involved with efforts to green your building, classroom, dorm, office, or lab. A green team is also a great way to meet new people and have fun working on special projects all year-round.

  9. Harvard Business School - Green Living Program

    What is the HBS Green Living Program?

    The HBS Green Living Program is a peer-to-peer education program that promotes sustainable living. Green Living Representatives work to encourage energy and water conservation and recycling and waste reduction through activities and information sharing in each HBS dorm and the common areas. They also suggest infrastructure and policy improvements that will remove barriers to student conservation. The program is supported by HBS Housing and Operations, and is just one of the many ways that these departments are working to make the campus more sustainable.

    The Harvard Medical School (HMS) Green Program is a collaborative effort between Harvard Medical School and Harvard’s Office for Sustainability with the purpose of engaging faculty, students, and staff in developing and institutionalizing a commitment to campus sustainability arising from a shared mission to enhance human and ecological health.

  12. Harvard Real Estate - Green Living Program

    What is the HRES Green Living Program?

    As part of Harvard Real Estate Services' (HRES) commitment to sustainability, a new Green Living Program has been launched with the goal of reaching residents in all rental apartments.

  13. Harvard School of Public Health - Green Program

    The Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) Green Program is a collaborative effort between Harvard School of Public Health and Harvard’s Office for Sustainability with the purpose of engaging faculty, students, and staff in developing and institutionalizing a commitment to campus sustainability arising from a shared mission to enhance human and ecological health.

  14. REP: Undergraduate Resource Efficiency Program

    The Resource Efficiency Program (REP) employs undergraduate students to be representatives (REP Reps) to their peers in their dorms and houses. These students educate their peers on environmental issues while advocating for pragmatic environmental efforts, such as changing incandescent light bulbs for florescent bulbs, double-sided printing, and reducing food waste.
